Next Step Plus
Next Step Plus is aimed mainly at, but not exclusively at, residents of certain areas of the Wirral designated as Super Output Areas and who:
- Are aged over 20
- Are qualified at level 3 or above (e.g. A Levels, NVQ3 or other Level 3 qualification)
- Are newly unemployed i.e. within the 6 months of unemployment.
As such you would normally only be eligible for the UNIVERSAL SERVICE as funded under Next Step but the funding for WORKING WIRRAL – NEXT STEP PLUS allows you to access additional, in-depth support to achieve your aims/goals. This support work will mainly be delivered via group sessions, which are planned to be deliver locally.
However for those who live outside the SOA's Greater Merseyside Connexions Adult Team can also see a clients from other backgrounds.
These are:
- clients aged 50+
- Lone parents - any gender.
- Women returning to the labour market - i.e. having been away from employment etc for more than 26 weeks through domestic reasons.
- Those with a recognised disability.
- People from backgrounds and cultures other than white.
Anyone who comes onto the programme would be eligible for a £25 High Street Voucher for every session they attend after the initial 1-2-1 and, as you can access up to 6 sessions, you could get £150 in vouchers.
We will also pay travelling expenses and in certain cases may be able to pay child care costs.
However the latter would be discussed with the client at the initial 1-2-1 session.
