About Connexions

Greater Merseyside Connexions Partnership:

  • Is a free and independent information, advice, guidance and support service for 13 to 19 year olds offering an extended service up until the age of 25 for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.  Please click here for more information.
  • Provides access for all 13 to 19 year olds* to a Personal Adviser who will help them work out what information or support they need and, if necessary, help them to get extra help from other specialist services.
  • Is delivered by a network of specially trained Personal Advisers, who are available to help young people in schools, colleges, community bases and from our 15 public access centres located throughout Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, St Helens, Sefton and Wirral.
  • We also have Personal Advisers working in various community settings across the area, so there are a number of ways in which young people can get hold of advice or support that they might need.
  • Helps young people choose the education and/or training they need to get the jobs they want to do.
  • Helps young people reach their full potential; to take part in education, employment or training successfully, so that they can make the most of their lives and have a better future.
  • To be able to do this, some young people have to be able to overcome personal issues first, we can help with these too.
  • Personal Advisers work closely with specialist workers from other organisations and when necessary, can help young people to get extra help from other specialist services.

 We offer young people:

  • Help to make choices about their learning options - for example subjects and courses - at key stages in their education, from year 9 onwards.
  • Information and guidance on careers, education and training choices.
  • Advice on CV's, interviews and applications for courses and jobs.
  • Help to find a course, job or training (work-based learning) vacancy.
  • Information on lifestyle, leisure and volunteering opportunities.
  • Extra help and support if your child needs it, to deal with any problems or issues.
  • Specialist help for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities.
