Funding available for 2009/10

Sponsorship for the Qualification in Careers Guidance (QCG).

We have now received further information from the DCSF regarding the criteria for sponsorship in 2009/10.

The scheme this year is being administered by igen on behalf of the DCSF and they have informed us of the following:

"The arrangements for the scheme this year are different, at the request of the DCSF.

The bursary this year will support training as follows:

* Full time QCG students who, if they qualify for the bursary, will have their fees paid directly and will receive a maintenance award of £4000 over the year, paid termly, directly from igen.

* Part time QCG students who can apply to have their fees paid"

The above means that employers, such as Greater Merseyside Connexions will not be sponsoring students direct, as we have in the past few years.

If you have not already done so, you are strongly advised to make contact as soon as possible with Manchester Metropolitan University (our local course centre)

http://www.mmu.ac.uk/

or to any other Centre in order to apply for a place on the QCG and for sponsorship.

Addresses of all QCG course centres are available on the Institute of Career Guidance website.
