We (involve) think Connexions listens to us, but do they listen to YOU !
We meet every two weeks with Connexions staff to get our point across but we thought that the staff should be asking more young people what they think about the Connexions service in Halton. We decided to create a questionnaire that could be given to each young person after they have an interview/appointment/group with Connexions.
We have kept it really short, just one side (the back page is optional) and most boxes you can just tick your answer. Have a look at the questionnaire, see what you think.

Remember; the next time you meet with a Connexions Advisor in school or college remember to ask them for a feedback questionnaire so YOU can get your opinion heard.
Involve 2009 Residential (Trafford Hall)
In July 2009 Involve went on a weekend residential, the main aim of this residential was to plan the development of our web pages on the www.connexionslive.com website (Yes the one you are reading now). We also took the opportunity to develop our team work skills.

Do You Know What A Training Provider Is ??? We didn't !!!
Most young people know you can go to college when you leave school. A lot of young people know what an Apprenticeship is, but who knows what a Training Provider is or what you can do at a Training Provider.
Involve thought this was a problem they would like to help fix. We decided it would be a good idea to make short films of the Training Providers in Halton that could be shown in the Connexions centre's to help young people understand what they can do at a Training Provider.
We first had to get our local Training providers to agree with us so we decided to make a film as an example and we pretended to be a Training Provider (did someone mention Oscar !!!)

The good news is that one of our Training Providers really liked the idea so we are about to film them, hopefully this will lead onto other Training providers getting involved.
For Fun see if you can count how many times we used the phrase 'Training Provider' in this project!!!!!!
Involve has produced a tour of each of the Connexions Centres in Halton,
Runcorn and Widnes:
We made these video's to help show people who have never been in a Connexions Centre before what to expect when they come in.
Through speaking with local young people who use the centres we found that they sometimes feel uncomfortable and don't know what they can do when they walk in. We filmed explanations of the different parts of the Connexions Centre, the library area, reception area, information board, computer area, the opportunities board, and mentioned that you can see a PA in the open centre or in a private room.
We hope that after watching these videos young people will have an idea of what to expect when they enter the Connexions Centres.
