Activity Agreement Stages
Stage 1 Engagement
Here you will likely see your PA most; you look at what the pilot involves, what you want to achieve and what help you might need to achieve your goal. From this you will draw up a plan with your PA.
You will be shown how to use the activity log cards to help keep track of your weekly activities and make sure you receive your payments – this money will go straight into your bank account. If you haven’t already got one, your PA will help you sort this out.
Don’t delay in getting your bank account sorted, this could hold up your payment.
Get your parental consent form completed and returned. This is a form that your parents or carers sign to confirm that you can take part in the activities. If you have any difficulties getting this, speak to your PA. We need this before you can go on activities.
Stage 2 Development
Here you will spend most time doing different activities, to help you build the skills, knowledge and experience you want. This can be anything that interests you and helps you move towards your goal.
Keep your Parental Consent form and Activity log in a safe place. You will need to show it to the staff at every activity.
Get your log signed at every meeting/activity. Your Activity Log is proof that you attended. If it’s lost it can delay the £30 payments.
Contact your PA if there’s a reason you can’t get to one of your meetings/activities.
Share your log with your parents/carers. It’s your responsibility to keep them informed of what you’re up to.
Let your PA know if you start claiming benefits. You can’t get the £30 payments on top of benefits.
If you have any questions or worries let your PA know. They might be able to help; if they can’t, then they’ll find someone that can.
Stage 3 Exit
In this final stage, you will be involved in activities focused on your move into education, employment or training. This could include application and interview practice, help with job search, visits to colleges or work based learning providers.
The time you spend in each of the key stages will depend on you; but you can spend up to 20 weeks on the Pilot in total. Your PA will be meeting with you at least weekly to see how you’re getting on.
At the end of the programme, if you’re not able to start in education, employment or training straight away, your PA will arrange for you to still get support from the Connexions service until you’re set up.
