If you are still in education at 18 it is likely that you are considering one of two options: Higher education (HE) or Employment.

Why choose Higher Education?

It will help you develop personal skills It will give you a wider understanding of the world.  It will develop career related skills. It is the only entry route to many careers It is the most common entry route to many other careers. It is an enjoyable experience for most students.

Why choose employment?

You will not have to take out a student loan or pay tuition fees. You get onto the career ladder earlier than those that go into HE - everyone has to get a job sometime so why not now? You can still do a part time degree.

For a look at local vacancies go to the Jobs and Opportunities section of our site For information on making decisions about studying in HE download or ask your Personal Adviser for a free copy of our booklet Choices at 18 plus 2010

You can now view our Issues leaflets by course subject that you are thinking about applying for higher education to find out all about the course subjects, alternatives, competition for entry and career opportunities.

And don’t forget the 2010 Higher Education Conference for anyone thinking of applying to HE in 2011.

The next one is on 16th and 17th June 2010 at the University of Liverpool. More information is available in the Schools and Colleges section of this website
