Time Off for Study

If you are aged 16 or 17* and have not yet achieved a certain standard (NVQ level 2 or five GCSE’s Grade C or above) you are entitled to paid Time off Work for Study or Training.

This applies to you if you are in employment and NOT in full time education, or are an Apprentice or Trainee.

The course taken must be 'relevant'. This means that it should enhance your career prospects and will normally be a course leading to a vocational qualification related to your field of employment, but this is not always the case.

*If you are 18 you may have a right to complete study or training that you have already begun.
