IT Pay
- Contract Technical Support Staff are currently paid £14 to £20 an hour.
- IT Product Developers are currently paid £30 - £45 per hour.
- Business Analysts / Project Managers tend to be recruited on short term contracts (3 months plus) and are paid by the
day. Typical rates are £350 - £450 per day.
The working week
- A recent survey found that on average the IT workers surveyed were working for five hours more per week than the
number of hours for which they were contracted. But this ‘long hours culture’ is not popular with IT workers who
are now changing jobs in order to gain a better work – life balance rather than to get paid more.
IT Recruitment
- Most IT recruitment is now online:
- 70% of recruitment is via job web sites.
- 20% via recruitment agencies.
- 10% via traditional methods (e.g. newspapers, etc.).
